Gutteridge Gardens

The shining Inglis River estuary provides an idyllic setting for Wynyard's tranquil riverside gardens.

The gardens have developed from native bushland and incorporate several ecosystems, including wetlands. They follow the riverbank for several kilometers. A track off to Fossil Bluff and a nine-hole golf course and on the left–hand side before the bridge the track loops along the river.

Some recommended walks are:

Gutteridge Gardens to Inglis River Bridge, Bass Highway

his walk is approx 5km and is made up of the following routes:

  • Gutteridge Gardens to Cape Bridge (1 km)
  • Cape Bridge to Big Creek Bridge (approx 1 km)
  • Big Creek to the end of the York Street Reserve (approx 1.5km)
  • York Street Reserve to Highway Bridge (1.5km)

Gutteridge Gardens to Fossil Bluff (3km one way)

Follow the Inglis River to cape bridge, cross the river and follow the Bicentennial Track along the northern bank to golf links road. When you reach freestone crescent, there will be a sign to the Fossil Bluff car park.
